Lyrics

The valley holds its breath beneath a lid of stars
I find a pale road where the black hills part

Stone after stone wakes cold beneath my feet
Night hangs above me like a depthless sea
Far on the ridge a silver edge appears
Then vanishes behind the moving cloud
I leave the silent cliffs behind my shoulder
And follow where the buried land grows clear

(White peaks emerge from the depths of night)
(The wind returns to the valley long sealed away)
(A nameless road climbs over the crags)
(The distant sky opens without a sound)

Night Gives Way
The dark recedes beyond the ridge
(I stride toward a light I have yet to see)
Night Gives Way
The hidden country comes alive
(The wind slips free of the shadows and brushes my cheek)
What waited beyond the dark is finally near

(Blue mist lifts away from the valley slopes)
(The outlines of ancient stone pillars reappear)
(Light races across the dry riverbed)
(The sleeping grasses begin to stir in the wind)
(I look back into darkness that still runs deep)
(Yet the boundary keeps receding into the distance)

The cliffs release the echoes they had kept
One narrow brightness widens through the haze
I feel the cold unfasten from the earth
And distant summits rise through thinning haze

Night Gives Way
The dark recedes beyond the ridge
(I stride toward a light I have yet to see)
Night Gives Way
The hidden country comes alive
(The wind slips free of the shadows and brushes my cheek)
What waited beyond the dark is finally near

(On a night when only the ground beneath my feet feels real)
(I follow the fading path alone)
(Light has yet to reach this valley)
(Only the wind ahead begins to lose its chill)

Then the cloudline tears above the pass
Cold fire runs along the waking stone
I cross the place where night was deepest
And hear the empty distances unfold

Night Gives Way
The dark withdraws beyond the heights
(The wind that crossed the night sweeps across the land)
Night Gives Way
The hidden valleys catch the light
(Unseen vistas unfold to the far horizon)
(I press onward without looking back)
The road runs farther than the night could reach

Behind me the last black ridge grows small
(Beyond the night the road goes on)

Prompt

Create Night Gives Way as fast symphonic melodic power metal with a dark minor-centered core, bittersweet melodic lift, and forward motion. Use a female solo lead across English and Japanese, keeping both languages central, with layered female choir only in the final chorus as payoff. Open compactly with the Night-Gives-Way motif: a falling dark phrase answered by a wide upward release, then enter the main pulse early without spending maximum density. Keep verses lean and mobile, pre-choruses tightening, and choruses wide, soaring, and memorable. Build strong section contrast through thinning, rests, harmonic tension, and selective orchestral withdrawal rather than constant loudness. At mid-song, strip to a narrow pulse and exposed motif, then rebuild in two stages. Make the final third more propulsive than the middle, with tight double bass, phrase motion, and a singing lead that transforms the motif upward. Preserve firm articulation, restrained reverb, and a tragic-to-cathartic arc.
